Virtual Summit of the
Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities
May 15, 2023
The Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities is a voluntary association of universities both categorized as R1 (very high research activity) by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of Education.
Among all the Alliance universities, at least 25% of their undergraduate enrollment self-identify as Hispanic or Latinx. Our work is focused on achieving two important and ambitious goals by 2030:
- Double the number of Hispanic doctoral students enrolled at our universities
- Increase by 20% the Hispanic professoriate in our universities
Achievement of these important goals requires intentional work and collaboration among the members of the Alliance. To advance the collaborative efforts of the member universities, the HSRU Alliance will hold a virtual convening that aims to bring together an inaugural cohort of campus leaders and stakeholders.
